We are situated on Arya Samaj Road in Jacombpura. It’s an old part of town with narrow streets and lots of history. Our shop is usually filled with the smell of frying dough and boiling milk. We start our work long before the sun comes up to make sure everything is ready for the morning crowd. There are big metal vats in the back where the sugar syrup stays warm all day. During the festival seasons, things get absolutely crazy and we barely sleep. We have boxes stacked up to the ceiling sometimes. It’s a family-run feel here, even if not everyone is related. We know the neighbors and the people who have been coming here since they were kids. Jacombpura has its own pace, a bit slower than the main highways but still very active. We don’t put much effort into advertising or anything like that because word of mouth seems to work just fine for us. Sometimes we make mistakes with an order when it’s busy, but we always try to fix it. The floor is usually a bit sticky from the sweets, but we scrub it down every night. We are just a local shop trying to keep the traditions going on Arya Samaj Road. It’s simple, honest work that we’ve been doing for years and we plan to keep at it. No one is in a rush to leave when they stop by.
