Hari Krishna Sweet

Hari Krishna Sweet is tucked away in Sadar Bazar near Naya Bazar in the Jaccaumpura area. If you know the Ep-175 spot, that is where we are. It is an old part of town and the lanes are very narrow, so it always feels a bit cramped but lively. We focus mostly on traditional milk sweets and the big iron pans are always bubbling with something. The heat in Sadar Bazar can be quite intense in the summer months and being near the stoves makes it even hotter for us. We have been here for a long time and we know most of the shopkeepers on this street. In the mornings, we are busy making fresh samosas and stacking up the barfi. The floor is old stone and the walls have been painted many times over the years. It is a family-run kind of vibe where we just get on with the work. People come in from the market to take a break from the sun. We don't have a lot of space for sitting, so most people just stand or take their sweets to go in cardboard boxes. The buzzer on the door is broken so it makes a weird clicking sound every time someone enters. It is just a normal, honest sweet shop doing things the old way in a very busy part of Gurgaon.
