Bhardwaj General Store

Bhardwaj General Store is located in Islampur Village, right off the Main Sohna Road. This area has grown so much in the last few years with all the big buildings going up nearby, but our shop still feels like it belongs to the old village. We keep a bit of everything, from basic groceries like salt and flour to smaller things like matches, candles, and light bulbs. The shop is on the ground floor of an old building, and the ceiling is quite low. In the mornings, I sit out front on a small stool for a bit before the sun gets too high. Most of our customers are the people who have lived in Islampur for generations, though we get some laborers and workers from the new construction sites too. They usually want cigarettes, cold water, or small snacks. We don't have a computer or any fancy billing machine, so I just use a calculator and a small notebook to keep track of the daily sales. The walls inside are painted a light blue, but it’s peeling in a few places near the door. It’s not a fancy place at all, just a local store where you can get your daily needs without any fuss. The traffic on Sohna Road is always rushing by, but inside the village, things still move a little bit slower. It’s a good place to be, all things considered, and we stay open until the night gets dark.
