Bala Ji General Store

Sector 44 is where we are located. It’s a quiet part of town but people still need their daily groceries without traveling too far. We have the Bala Ji General Store tucked away here for that reason. It’s a simple shop. We sell things like flour, rice, and those little packets of biscuits the kids like. I usually open around eight in the morning. Sometimes I am open earlier if I’m already there cleaning up the floor. The shelves are mostly full but sometimes we have gaps when the supplier doesn't show up on time. That's just part of the business. I've lived around here for a while, so I know most of the faces that walk through the door every day. We don’t do any fancy deliveries or anything, people just walk over from their houses in the sector. It’s nice talking to the elderly folks who come in for their tea leaves and sugar. They usually stay for ten minutes just to talk about the weather or their grandkids. The shop isn't big, but we try to keep the essentials. If you need a lightbulb or some washing powder, we probably have it tucked away somewhere on the back wall. It gets a bit dusty because of the construction nearby, so I spend a lot of time with a cloth wiping down the jars. It's not a fancy job but it keeps us busy. Sector 44 is growing and we see new people moving in quite often now.
