Aggarwal Sweets

Our shop is at A-12 in DLF City Phase I. Aggarwal Sweets is a name you see a lot, but this is our corner of the world. We’ve been in Phase I for a long time, watching the houses get bigger and the cars get fancier. We still do things the old way, though. Our halwai has been with us for years, and he knows exactly how much sugar goes into every batch. The shop isn't very big, so it gets tight when there are more than five or six customers at once. We have those glass cases full of laddoos and barfis. In the evenings, we start frying samosas and kachoris near the front, and that usually brings people in. The floor is old stone and it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We have a small sink in the corner for people to wash their hands. It’s nothing special to look at, but it works. We know the families around here. We’ve seen their kids grow up. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the generator, which is noisy, but we keep serving. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. We open early and close late. It’s just a neighborhood sweet shop trying to do right by the people who live here.
