Aggarwal Sweets & Snacks

Our shop is on Poorvi Marg in Vasant Vihar, right at number 21. It’s a busy street and we’ve been part of it for quite a long time. Aggarwal Sweets & Snacks is usually full of people in the evenings when they are going home and want to pick up something for tea. We have a lot of different sweets in the glass cases, and we try to keep them organized, though it gets messy when we’re busy. The frying station for the samosas is always going in the back, and the smell of oil is just part of the air here. Sometimes the line gets a bit long and people get a little grumpy, but we move as fast as we can. It’s a family-run place, so you’ll often see my brothers or my nephews behind the counter. We’ve had to replace the display lights a few times because they keep flickering. The floor is made of marble but it’s seen a lot of feet over the years. We don't do fancy packaging unless someone asks for a gift box. Mostly, it’s just people buying a kilo of this or a few of those. It’s a loud, busy environment but we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves if it was quiet. We just keep making the sweets and hope the stove stays lit every day. That is how we work here.
