If you head toward Pace City No. 2 in Sector No. 37, you’ll find Sandeep Printers at No. 661. We are right near Hero Honda Chowk, so we get to hear the traffic and the horns all day long. The smell of ink is the first thing you notice when you step inside. It’s a heavy, metallic sort of smell that stays on your clothes even after you go home. We have a few different presses running, and they make a rhythmic thumping sound that you eventually stop hearing after a few hours. We spend our time checking proofs and making sure the colors aren't looking too faded or too dark. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and moving heavy reams of paper from one side of the room to the other. Sometimes a machine jams up right when we have a big deadline, and we all have to huddle around it with screwdrivers to get it going again. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just print stuff on paper. Whether it’s a small flyer or a big book, we treat it the same way. The crew here is small, and we mostly just get on with the work without a lot of fuss. It’s a bit of an old-school way of doing things, but in an industrial area like this, that’s usually what people are looking for. There is always a radio playing somewhere in the back to keep us going.
