Laxmi Traders

If you head down Basai Road towards Bada Bazar, you’ll find us easily enough. Laxmi Traders has been sitting in this spot for quite a while. It’s a busy market area, so there is always a lot of shouting, horns honking, and people moving about. We deal in all sorts of general goods and bulk items that shops around here need. Our space is packed from floor to ceiling with sacks and boxes. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but that’s just how trading businesses go. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people just know to come to Bada Bazar when they need to restock. My family has been involved in this for a long time. We open early in the morning when the trucks start arriving and we don't really close until the sun is well down. It’s dusty work and can be quite tiring on the legs, standing around all day. We use old ledgers to keep track of things mostly, though there is a small calculator on the counter that gets a lot of use. Dealing with the wholesalers and then the local customers takes up the whole day. Sometimes the rains make the road outside a bit of a mess, but the business doesn't stop. We just put out some wooden planks and keep going. It’s a simple life, really. No big secrets, just buying and selling and making sure the inventory stays moving.
