Horizons

We are over here at V-31/11 in DLF Phase-iii. It is not one of those fancy glass buildings like the ones you see on the main roads around Gurgaon, but it works for us. Most days start with trying to find a decent parking spot before the sun gets too hot. The office at Horizons is basically just a few rooms filled with desks, some old monitors we haven't thrown out yet, and a lot of tangled cables under the feet. We have been in this part of Phase-iii for a while now. You get used to the sounds of the neighborhood, the delivery bikes zooming past, and the stray dogs napping near the gate. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to wait for the backup to kick in, which gives us a minute to actually talk to each other instead of staring at screens. We do our work, mostly tech stuff and organizing things for people who need it. It is not a big corporate operation with a lobby and a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just opens it if someone knocks. We drink a lot of tea from the stall around the corner. It is just a group of us trying to get through the task list and making sure the clients do not have to call us twice for the same problem. We are not trying to change the world, just keeping things running from this little corner of the city.
