Kakkar Sonam Architect

Kakkar Sonam Architect is based over at B-144 in Guru Nank Nagar, right on Dalhousie Road. It’s a busy area and we like being in the middle of it. Our office is a straightforward place where we get the work done. There are always blueprints spread out across the main table. We have a couple of computers that we use for the heavy lifting, but we still like to draw by hand when we can. Dalhousie Road always has something going on, so it’s never quiet. We have a lot of books on the shelves about how things are built. Sometimes we have to go out to the sites to see how the work is progressing, which means the office is empty for a few hours. We don't have a fancy lobby. You just walk in and we’re there. It’s a small team, and we’ve known each other for years. We don't talk in corporate jargon. We just say things as they are. If a design isn't working, we start over. We drink a lot of water and try to keep the fans going when it's hot. Guru Nank Nagar is a place where people know their neighbors, and we try to be part of that. We’ve been at B-144 for a good while now and have no plans to move. It’s just where we do our work, day in and day out. We have a small corner for making tea and coffee, which gets used a lot. The front door is a little squeaky, but we know it's just someone coming in.
