Living and working around Vignan University in Vadlamudi means things are rarely quiet. The campus is always moving, from the early morning when the first buses arrive to late in the evening. My day usually involves looking at the room schedules and making sure the basic things are where they need to be. It is a large place, and keeping everything running smoothly can be a real task. We have students here from all over, so you hear a lot of different languages and see a lot of people just trying to find their way to class. It feels like its own little world once you go through the main gates. We have all the normal things like labs and classrooms, but also plenty of open spaces where everyone hangs out. The weather out here in Vadlamudi gets very hot, so the shady spots under the trees are always full. We spend a lot of time on the administrative side of things, just pushing paperwork and making sure the faculty has what they need for the day. It isn't all about studying; there is always some event or project that the students are working on. You see them looking pretty stressed out when exams come around, but then the mood lifts once the holidays start. It is a constant cycle of people coming and going, and we are just here in the middle of it all, keeping it going.
