Vinay Steel Works

Our workshop is on Plot No D/101 in Sector 10. It is a basic setup where we deal with all kinds of iron and steel work. You will usually find us welding something or grinding down edges to make them smooth. The sparks fly everywhere, so we always have to wear our gear. It gets very loud in here when the hammers are going. We make gates, window grills, and other structural bits that people need for their buildings. The plot is mostly open to the air, which helps with the fumes from the welding. We have piles of metal rods and sheets leaning against the walls. It isn't a very tidy place, but we know where everything is. Most of our work comes from people in the neighborhood who need something fixed or built for their new houses. We take the measurements, do the cutting, and then join it all together. Sometimes we have to go out to the site to fit the pieces in place. It is heavy work and our clothes are always stained with grease or rust. We don't have a fancy office; there is just a small table where we keep the diary and the tape measure. It is a straightforward job where you can see what you have made at the end of the day.
