Steel Smith

We've been at C-168 in the Bulandsher Road industrial area for a good while now. It’s a noisy part of town, but that’s just how industrial zones are. Most days, we’re busy handling steel and getting things ready for customers who need parts or structural stuff. It isn’t glamorous work. There’s a lot of dust and the smell of cut metal is everywhere. Some of the guys have been here since the start, and we just kind of know the rhythm of the machines by now. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we take a break and sit outside the gate. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk with too many papers and the workshop floor. People usually find us because they heard from someone else that we get the job done without much fuss. We try to keep things moving so we don't fall behind on orders. If you walk past Site-No. I, you'll probably hear the grinding sounds. It’s hard work and it makes your hands dirty, but it's what we do. We don't really bother with big ads or anything. We just focus on the metal and making sure the measurements are right. Sometimes a customer comes in with a weird request, and we spend all morning figuring out how to make it work with the tools we have. That's just a normal Tuesday for us here at Steel Smith. It's a steady life. We keep at it.
