Stadchem Of India

We spend most of our time here at Shop No 5394 in New Market Sadar Bazar. If you know this part of town, you know it is always packed with people moving boxes and yelling for space. Our shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but it’s where we get everything done. The shelves are pretty tall and sometimes I have to use that old wooden ladder that wobbles a bit. It’s been there for years and I keep meaning to replace it, but it still works. We usually get in around ten in the morning after the traffic dies down a little bit. The air gets quite dusty by noon because of all the trucks and rickshaws nearby. I sit at the front desk which is mostly covered in old notebooks and a few pens that barely work. My cousin helps me out with the heavy lifting when we get a big shipment in. We don't have fancy lights or anything like that, just the basic tubes on the ceiling. Sometimes the tea man forgets our order, but usually, he’s on time around four o'clock. We talk to the neighbors about the weather or how slow the day is going. It is just a regular life here at Stadchem Of India. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just keep the shop open and handle whatever comes through the door. It is a lot of noise every day, but we are used to it by now.
