Out here in Toy City, things are more industrial. It’s not like the residential parts of Noida. We are at 2 C. Our place is mostly full of drums and large containers. It’s not the prettiest site to look at. There is always a faint smell of something in the air. You get used to it after the first week of working here. We deal with various chemicals for the small industries around this area. It’s a lot of loading and unloading from the trucks. We have a small office in the corner. It has a window that looks out onto the main road. Not much to see, just more trucks and dust. We spend our time checking labels and making sure the orders are exactly correct. Mistakes can be dangerous in this line of work. So we are very careful with the measurements. We aren't some giant corporation with fancy suits. Just a group of people doing a job. The walls are gray. The floor is plain concrete. It’s practical. My foreman, Ravi, has been with us since we opened up. He knows every barrel in the place by sight. We eat lunch together on the plastic table outside when it’s not too hot or dusty. It’s quiet work in a way. Not many walk-in customers. Just scheduled deliveries and paperwork. We keep our heads down and do the task. Noida is growing so much, but Toy City feels separate.
