Shivalik Alloys & Engineering Co is located at D-27 on Bulandshahar Road. This whole area is nothing but factories and industrial sheds. It's quite gritty and the air always has that metallic smell. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a long time. Our space is filled with heavy machinery and stacks of metal parts. It's not the kind of place where you’d want to wear a white shirt. We get our hands dirty every single day. The floor is concrete and has some cracks here and there. We do engineering work and deal with different types of alloys. It requires a lot of concentration and sometimes things go wrong, so we have to start over. We don't have an HR department or a marketing team. It’s just the owner and the guys who run the machines. We eat our lunch together in a small corner near the entrance. The trucks come by to drop off raw materials and pick up finished pieces. It can get pretty chaotic when three trucks show up at once. We just handle it as it comes. There’s a lot of noise from the grinders and the lathes, so we mostly use hand signals to communicate. It’s a tough environment but it’s what we know. We’re just a group of people making things and trying to do a decent job of it. No one bothers with fancy talk around here. We just get to work.
