Ankit Pattern & Engineering Works

We are tucked away in Plot No. 1 within the Punjab Expellor Compound on Meerut Road. If you know where the Movie World cinema is, we are right near there. You can often hear the muffled sounds from the area while we are working on patterns and engineering bits. Our workshop is full of the smell of metal and cutting oil. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step because there might be a casting or a heavy tool on the floor. We spend our days making patterns and doing various engineering jobs that people bring to us. It’s not a quiet job, and the machines have been with us for a long time, so they have their own little quirks that only we really understand. The workbench is scarred from years of use, and we have cabinets full of blueprints and old designs. We don’t wear suits here; it’s all work clothes and heavy boots. Sometimes we go over to the tea stall by the road when we need a break from the noise. Being in the Punjab Expellor Compound means we are surrounded by other people doing similar hard work, which feels right. Ankit Pattern & Engineering Works is just a place where we use our hands and our brains to build things. We don’t have a big sign out front, just the work we do to show for our time. It’s a bit messy, but it’s our version of being productive.
