Shiva Engineers

Shiva Engineers is based at No. 136 Mohan Nagar. It’s been our home for a lot of years. The workshop is a busy place, and to be honest, it’s usually pretty loud because of the machinery we have running. We mostly do engineering repairs and small fabrication jobs for whoever walks in. Mohan Nagar is a crowded neighborhood, so there’s always noise from the street mixing with the sounds of our lathes. We don't have a fancy front office with air conditioning; it’s just a big open shed with oil-stained concrete floors. We try to sweep up the metal shavings every evening, but they always seem to find their way into the corners. My brother and I run the place, and we’re usually covered in grease by the time lunch rolls around. We’ve got some old equipment that still works better than the new stuff, even if it looks a bit rough. The roof has a small leak near the back wall that we’ve been meaning to fix for months, but we just put a bucket under it when it rains. People around here know they can bring us broken parts and we’ll do our best to get them working again. It’s hard, manual work and the hours can be long when a big job comes in. We don’t have a mission statement or anything like that. We just focus on getting the work done and getting the parts back to the owners.
