Down in Bhovapur near the Friday Bazar in Ghaziabad, you’ll find us at Rahis Steel Fabricators. It’s a noisy spot with all the welding and cutting going on all day. We make things like gates, window grills, and small frames for people in the local area. The shop is full of metal scraps, rods, and heavy tools that we’ve used for years. It isn’t the cleanest place, as there’s always iron filings and sparks flying around. We wear our old work clothes because they’re going to get ruined anyway. My team and I take orders based on what people need for their homes or small shops. We don't have a catalog or anything; people usually just show us a picture or describe what they want, and we figure out how to build it. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the narrow market streets, especially on Fridays when the bazaar is on. We just work through the heat and the noise. We aren't trying to be a big factory; we’re just local guys who know how to work with steel. There’s a tea stall nearby that brings us glasses of chai a few times a day, which helps us keep going. It’s honest, hard work and we’ve been doing it in this same spot for a long time now. We might not be fast, but we get the job done right eventually. That's all there is to it.
