Anil Engineering Works

Being right near the railway station in Laharsara means it’s never really quiet around here. You can hear the trains passing by at all hours of the day. Our workshop is at House No. D-63/342, and it’s been the same for a long time. We do a lot of engineering work, mostly fixing things or making small parts when someone needs them. It’s a bit dusty because of the tracks nearby, but we don’t mind. People stop in because they see the sign or they heard about us from someone else in the neighborhood. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just open up the shutters in the morning and see what the day brings. Sometimes it’s a big job that takes all week, other times it’s just something small that takes ten minutes. Anil and the rest of the guys have been working together for ages. We know our machines well and we know how to make them behave. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually end up talking about the work. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning. It’s a place where hands get dirty and things actually get made. We try to keep things honest and just do what we said we’d do. If the station is busy, we’re usually busy too. That’s just how it goes here in Laharsara.
