Being right on G.T. Road makes things busy. We are just opposite the Thakurdwara Mandir, so we hear the temple bells every day. It’s a good spot, even if the traffic is a nightmare sometimes. We do a mix of things here, some engineering and some trading of tools and equipment. The building is older, and we’ve been here long enough that people just know us as the shop near the temple. We stock a lot of different items, so the shelves are pretty crowded. Sometimes it takes a minute to find the exact piece of hardware someone is asking for. We aren't a modern supermarket; it’s more of a traditional setup where you ask for what you need and we go get it. The floor is concrete and there’s always a bit of grease around. That’s just the nature of the trade. We deal with a lot of local mechanics and small builders who pass by on the main road. It gets dusty with all the trucks going past, but we keep the doors open. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just talk to the people who walk in. It’s a simple life. Work starts early and we close up when the sun goes down and the traffic thins out a bit. We’ve been here for twenty years and the temple hasn't changed much at all.
