Lotus World School

Plot No 120 in Sigma 2 is where we spend our days at Lotus World School. This part of Greater Noida feels a bit more spread out and quiet than the main city center, which is nice for a school setting. When you walk into the grounds, you see the central courtyard where the students gather. It is a functional space with simple brickwork and a few potted plants that we try our best to keep alive during the summer heat. The main office is usually a bit of a mess with piles of files, attendance sheets, and stationary. We spend a lot of our time answering the phone or talking to parents who drop by because they live nearby in the 201310 area. The classrooms get a lot of light because of the large windows, though we often have to pull the curtains when the sun gets too strong in the afternoon. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait for the backup generator to kick in, which is just a normal part of life in Noida. The staff here mostly lives in the surrounding blocks, so we often see each other at the local markets after work. We aren't trying to be anything fancy; we are just a solid place for kids to spend their day. We just keep things moving, fix what breaks around the building, and make sure the teachers have what they need for their next class.
