Shyam Multicommodity

Our office is at 2-G-14 in Jawahar Nagar, which is a pretty busy part of town. It’s a regular building, nothing special to look at, but it gets the job done for what we do at Shyam Multicommodity. We handle a bunch of different items, buying and selling depending on what’s available and what people are looking for at the time. It’s mostly just a few of us working here. The mornings are usually the busiest because that’s when everyone wants to get their orders in. We spend a lot of time talking to suppliers and trying to figure out where the next load is coming from. Sometimes it feels like we are just moving things from one place to another all day long. It can get a bit stressful when prices change or things get delayed on the road, but that’s just the nature of this kind of work. We’ve been in Jawahar Nagar for a good while, so we know the local tea stall and the other shop owners around us. It’s a nice community to be part of. We don’t really do much in the way of fancy advertising; people just sort of find us or hear about us from someone else. It’s a practical way to run things, I think. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day.
