King Refrigeration & Co.

Up here in Vaniya Vas, Ramol, at Plot No 951, you’ll find our little setup. King Refrigeration & Co. has been operating out of this spot for a long time. It’s a lot of copper tubing, gas canisters, and old compressors sitting around the yard. We spend most of our time out on calls or hunched over a unit that stopped cooling. It gets hot in Ramol, so people are always calling when their stuff breaks down. We try to get to everyone, but sometimes the parts take a few days to arrive and we have to wait. That’s the hardest part of the job, telling someone they have to wait. Our workshop isn't anything special to look at. It’s mostly just shelves full of spare parts and tools that have seen better days. We do the repairs ourselves and handle the heavy lifting. It’s hard work on the back, especially moving the big commercial units. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit near the back door, but we just move the stuff out of the way. We aren't big talkers here. We just look at the problem, see if it can be fixed, and tell you what it’s going to cost for the parts. It is honest work and it keeps us out of trouble. We’ve known the neighbors for years and they know where to find us. It’s just how we make our living and we are okay with it.
