Shri Jalaram Marble

Our warehouse is at Plot No. 1 in Sector 10 B of the Industrial Area. It’s a large, open building where we keep all the marble slabs we’ve collected. Working in Sector 10 B means you’re surrounded by other warehouses and small factories, so it’s never really quiet. We spend most of our time moving the slabs around so people can see the different patterns in the stone. It’s heavy work, and we use a small crane that squeaks every time it moves. The floor is concrete and always has a bit of a chill to it, even when it’s warm outside. We don't have a lot of staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the marble without breaking it. We keep a small table in the corner for our lunch and for when customers want to sit down and look at their sketches. There is no air conditioning, just a big fan that moves the dusty air around. We’ve been in this sector for a while, and we know most of the other business owners nearby. Sometimes we help each other out with a fork-lift or just share some news about the local market. It isn't a glamorous job, and our clothes are always stained with grey marks from the stone, but it’s what we do. We just focus on keeping the slabs organized and making sure the orders go out to the sites correctly so we don't have any issues later on.
