Uday Communication

The shop is at number 54 on KC Road in Faridabad N I T. It is a busy stretch of road and there is always a lot of honking and dust. Uday Communication is where we spend most of our waking hours. The space is narrow so we have to be careful when moving around each other. We handle a lot of phone repairs and sell small electronics. There is a smell of solder in the air most afternoons because someone is usually fixing a circuit board at the back table. The floor is made of old tiles that have cracks in them but they are easy to clean. We have a small television that stays on the news channel but the volume is always kept low. Customers come in with cracked screens or phones that fell in water. We tell them it might take a day or two. There is a water cooler in the corner that leaks a little bit so there is always a rag on the floor next to it. We don't have fancy signs or anything like that. Just the name above the door and the address 54 KC Road on the bills we hand out. By the time evening comes, we are pretty tired and ready to lock up. It is just honest work and we try to get through the day without too many problems. It gets dark early in the winter here.
