If you know Faridabad NIT, you know where Hardware Chowk is. We are located right there at 53/66. It’s a prime spot for anyone looking for machine tools because there are so many shops around, but we’ve managed to hold our own. The noise from the chowk is constant. You get used to the sounds of horns and people shouting. We spend most of our time inside the shop surrounded by metal and grease. It’s a hands-on kind of life. We deal with all sorts of people, from big contractors to guys just looking for a single replacement part for a home project. Sometimes the shop gets a bit cramped when a new shipment comes in. We have to stack boxes wherever they fit until we can sort them out. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. That’s the important part. My father used to say that a tidy shop doesn't do much work, and we definitely do work. We’ve seen the hardware market grow and change over the years. Newer buildings are going up, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We like it that way. It feels like home. When the sun goes down, the lights at the chowk stay bright, and we usually stay late to finish up orders. It’s just the way things go here in Faridabad. We don't need much more than a good set of tools and customers who know what they want.
