R G Machine Tools is tucked away at 1767 in Ballabhgarh, specifically within the Nanak Market area. This market is always crowded, especially on Mondays when everyone is trying to get their supplies for the week. Our shop is small, and we have to be careful how we walk so we don’t trip over the crates. We deal in various machine tools, mostly the kind of stuff used in the local workshops around here. The light inside isn’t the best, so we often take parts out to the doorway to see them better in the natural light. There’s a constant sound of rickshaws and people talking right outside our door. Sometimes it’s hard to hear the phone ring. We’ve had this spot for years, and the wooden counter is worn smooth from all the hands that have leaned on it. We don’t have a fancy website or anything like that. People just know where we are. We keep a stack of old newspapers to wrap the smaller parts so they don’t get oil on everything. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works fine. Lunch is usually whatever we brought from home, eaten quickly between customers. By the time we lock up at night, we’re pretty tired, but it’s a good kind of tired. The market stays busy even after we leave, with the street lights flickering on over the stalls.
