Trinath Rice Mill

Our mill is sitting right at number 73, near the Vellitirupur Police Station. If you’re driving along the Bhavani-Kolathur Road, you really can’t miss us. Trinath Rice Mill has been a fixture in this spot for a long time. The sound of the hulling machines is pretty much constant from morning till dusk. It’s a lot of manual labor, carrying the heavy bags of paddy back and forth. We get a lot of dust on us, and the air always smells like toasted grain. We aren't a big corporate company, just a local mill where farmers bring their crops. We have a few guys who have worked here since they were young. The equipment is older, but we keep it oiled and running well. Sometimes when the rain is heavy, the road out front gets a bit muddy, which makes it hard for the trucks to pull in. We just deal with it as it comes. We don't spend money on fancy signs or ads. People know us because their fathers and grandfathers brought rice here too. It’s basic, honest work. We make sure the rice is cleaned properly before it goes out. It’s a busy life, especially during the harvest season when we barely have time to sit down for a meal. We usually just grab a quick tea while the machines are being cleaned out for the next batch of grain.
