Jeevagram Organics

Out here in Chinnakulam, life is a bit slower than in the city. Jeevagram Organics is located right at 24/1, near the Kalingiyam post office area. We are surrounded by fields, which makes sense for what we do. We mostly deal with things grown right on the land around us. There aren't any big machines or chemicals being used here, just the old ways of doing things. We spend most of our days out in the sun or under the packing shed. We have grains, some pulses, and oils that we press ourselves. The shed gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but there’s usually a decent breeze coming across the pond. We don't have a fancy storefront. People who want our stuff usually know where to find us or they call us up. We spend a lot of time cleaning the seeds and making sure the bags are tied tight so the bugs don't get in. It's dusty work and your back definitely feels it at the end of the day. We are just a few families working together to keep the farm going. We eat what we grow, so we know it's good. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when it's supposed to, and that makes things a bit stressful, but that’s farming for you. We just take it one season at a time and try to keep the soil healthy for the next year. It’s just how we live and work out here.
