We are tucked away on 1st Street in Sakthi Nagar, inside the Tirupurr Complex. It’s a handy location for parents living around Thindal here in Erode. We started this daycare because we noticed how many working families needed a place for their little ones during the day. The space isn't huge, but we’ve made it cozy with mats on the floor and plenty of bins for toys. Most days, it’s a whirlwind of energy. We have kids of different ages, so there’s always someone crying or someone laughing. We spend a lot of time doing basic things like drawing with crayons or singing rhymes. Lunchtime is always the biggest task, getting everyone to sit down and eat their tiffins. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just us and the kids. The walls are covered in some of their drawings, even if they’re just scribbles. It feels like a home, which is what we wanted. Sometimes the air conditioner acts up, or we run out of craft paper, but we handle it. Parents appreciate that they can just walk in and talk to us without an appointment. It’s a straightforward operation. We look after the children, give them a nap in the afternoon, and wait for the parents to finish work. It’s just a normal part of the neighborhood life here.
