We are located on M.G. Road in Ernakulam, which is a pretty busy spot to be. The Kerala State Handicrafts Apex Co-Op. Society Ltd. has its space here, and it’s always full of items that have come in from different parts of the state. It isn't like a modern boutique where everything is spaced out and perfectly lit. Instead, it’s a bit more crowded, with shelves and floors holding all sorts of things made by hand. We have wood carvings, fabrics, and metalwork all sitting together. The staff here knows where things come from, but we don't use a lot of fancy sales talk. We just show you what’s available. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit dusty or the tags are handwritten and hard to read, but that’s just how we operate. It’s a cooperative, so things are done a bit differently than in a private company. We spend a lot of time talking to the artisans and organizing the logistics of getting their work to the city. The building itself is an older one, and the floors might creak a little as you walk around. We don't have a big marketing budget or a team of designers for the store. We just open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait for people to come in. It’s a steady, quiet way of working in the middle of Ernakulam, focusing on the goods we have.
