Eurokida Pre School

If you walk down St Antony’s Church Road in Maradu, you will find Eurokida Pre School tucked away in the Shantipuram area. It is a lively place, mostly because of the toddlers who are always running around or playing with toys. We started this because we saw how many parents in Ernakulam needed a reliable spot for their little ones during the day. Our staff is mostly made up of local women who live nearby and understand what it is like to look after a bunch of energetic children. The building isn't anything massive, but it has enough space for the different groups. We spend a lot of time cleaning up spills and putting blocks back in their bins. It is hard work, honestly, and by the end of the day, we are usually pretty tired. But seeing the kids learn how to share or recognize their first few letters makes it feel alright. We don't have any big corporate backing or anything like that; it’s just us doing our daily routine. Sometimes the rains make it a bit difficult for parents to drop the kids off at the gate, but we manage. We try to keep things friendly and relaxed so the children don't feel overwhelmed being away from home. It's just a regular part of life here in Maradu, helping the next batch of kids get ready for the bigger schools later on.
