C.K. Stores

If you find yourself near the Broad Way Junction, you will probably see C.K. Stores right there on Jews Street. It is a hectic part of town and we have been right in the middle of it for years. The shop isn't very large but we cram as much as we can onto the racks. Dealing with the crowd every day takes a lot of energy. Most of the time, we are just busy counting change or looking for something a customer asked for in the back. Jews Street has a lot of history and we feel like a small part of that. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been here forever. Sometimes the deliveries are late and customers have to wait, but that is just how it goes in a place this busy. We keep the doors open from morning until the sun goes down. People stop by for all sorts of things they forgot to buy elsewhere. It is noisy with all the traffic outside but we have gotten used to it. We don't bother with fancy displays or lights. The stock speaks for itself and people know what they are getting. We just try to keep the shelves full and the shop clean enough to walk through. It is hard work but it keeps us busy. We like being at the junction because something is always happening.
