Qatar Steel

Our place is over in Zakir Nagar, right on Old Purlia Road in the Mango area of Jamshedpur. If you know this part of town, you know it can get pretty crowded with all the trucks and people moving about. We deal with steel, which is what Jamshedpur is famous for anyway. The office at 435/5 is where we keep our books and talk to the guys who come in looking for supplies. It’s a straightforward setup. We have a few desks, some chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of ledger books. Steel is heavy business and it's mostly about knowing who needs what and when the next delivery is coming in. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just standing outside the shop talking to the drivers. The dust from the road comes in sometimes so we are always cleaning the tables. It’s a local operation and we know most of the people around here by name. There’s a tea stall nearby that we visit way too often during the day. We don't go in for fancy talk or big promises. We just try to get the orders right and make sure the steel gets to where it’s supposed to go. It is hot work in the summer but we have the fans going. We have been here in Mango for a bit now and it feels like home.
