Not Working Now

You can find our little shop at 54 Sakchi Market in Jamshedpur. It is a very busy part of Jharkhand, and there is always a lot of noise and dust from the street. Not Working Now is tucked away between a hardware store and a small tea shop. We have been here for a long time. The space is quite small, so we have to be careful not to trip over things. We don't have a big management team or any corporate policies. It is just a few of us who grew up in the area. We open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and see what the day brings. Sometimes people ask us about the name and we just tell them it seemed like a good idea at the time. We don't have air conditioning, so we rely on a large ceiling fan that makes a clicking sound. It’s not the most modern office you’ll ever see, but it is ours. We keep our records in big paper ledgers because we don't trust computers for everything. We know all the other shopkeepers in the market and we often help each other out. It is a very traditional way of working, grounded in the local community. We just do our work, have our tea, and go home when the sun sets.
