Indian Powerlifting Federation As A Secretary To General Sec

We run things from a small flat over in Jamshedpur, specifically Flat No B 61 in the Workers Flat area of Kadma. It is the home base for the Indian Powerlifting Federation. It is a modest setup because we would rather spend the resources on the sport than on a shiny office downtown. Since I am the secretary to the General Secretary, my desk is always piled high with registration forms and letters from lifters across the country. Jharkhand has a strong tradition of strength sports, so it feels right to be located here. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, filled with people who work hard. Sometimes the flat gets a bit cramped when we have visitors or when more files arrive from the different state chapters. We do not have a receptionist; if the door knocks, whoever is closest just goes to open it. It is a very hands-on way to manage a federation. We use an old printer that occasionally jams, and our filing system is mostly just big binders organized by year. It is not a corporate environment at all. It feels more like a community project. We stay late most nights making sure the records are updated for the next competition. It is honest work, and we take it one day at a time. The tea stall around the corner is where we do most of our informal planning. That is just how we operate.
