Mawsynram Block Fed Farmer Producer Company Limited

This group operates right out of Mawsynram village in the East Khasi Hills. If you know anything about this place, you know it rains a lot, maybe more than anywhere else. We are located in the Dongrum area. It is a group of local farmers trying to work together on the land we have. Dealing with so much rain means we have to be smart about how we plant things and when we harvest. It is not always easy work, and the ground gets very muddy, but this is our home. We decided to form this company to make it easier for all the small farmers in the block to get their produce to where it needs to go. Usually, you will find us chatting about the crops or checking on the fields when the clouds break for a bit. We don't have any big speeches or fancy goals, we just want to make sure the farming stays sustainable for the next generation in Mawsynram. The village is small and everyone knows each other, so the business side of things feels more like a community project. We keep our records and meetings simple. Most of the time, the focus is just on the dirt and the plants. It takes a lot of patience to farm in this climate, but we have been doing it for years. We just keep moving along, day by day, seeing what the season brings. It is a quiet way of living but it keeps us busy.
