If you’ve ever been to Mawkyrwat in the West Khasi Hills, you know it’s a beautiful place but it can be tough to get anything done in the rainy season. That is where Kyllumlang Agrofed Farmer'S Producer Company Limited operates. We are mostly based out of the area where Dimonlin Lyngkhoi and Osting Tongwah are, at house 62. It’s a humble setup. We are a collective of farmers who decided that we were tired of being the last ones to know anything about the market. We grow our crops in the hills and then we try to pool everything together. It helps with the trucks and getting a better price. We aren’t some corporate office people in suits. We usually have mud on our boots when we meet to talk about the company business. It’s a lot of learning as we go. Sometimes we make mistakes with the forms or the timing, but we are all neighbors so we help each other through it. We aren't here to tell you we are the best at anything. We are just here to say that we are working the land and trying to keep our community in Mawkyrwat strong. It’s about the soil and the people who work it. Nothing more, nothing less. We just keep our heads down and do the work. There are days when the mist is so thick you can't see the next field over, but we know the path.
