Mawklot Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is right in Mawklot, which is just on the outskirts of Shillong. We use Phelis Kharir’s place as our home base. Being so close to the city is handy, but we are still very much a farming community. Many of us have land that has been in our families for generations. We set up this producer company to help us manage our crops and get them to the people in the city. It’s not a fancy operation with a lot of employees. It’s mostly just us and our families working the fields. You can find us in Mawklot most days, either working or talking about the next planting season. The hills around here are green and the soil is pretty good if you know how to work it. We don't have a lot of time for polished talk or business meetings. We’d rather be outside. Our meetings are usually just a few of us standing around talking about what needs to be done. We don't try to be something we aren't. We are just farmers who live in Mawklot and want to make a living from our land. It’s a straightforward life without much fuss. We focus on the work at hand and let the results speak for themselves. This is our home and this is the work we know. We just do our best every day.
