Zpp High School

Zpp High School is located in Samarlakota, right in the heart of East Godavari. It is a government school, so things are pretty straightforward and basic here. The building is old and has that specific smell of old concrete and dust that most schools in this region have. We have a large open area where the students gather, and since we are in East Godavari, it can get incredibly hot during the summer months. The fans in the classrooms hum loudly, trying to keep the air moving while the teachers go through the lessons on the blackboards. We have many students who come from the farming families in the surrounding areas. They arrive early, some having traveled a fair distance to get here. Life at the school follows a very set routine that hasn't changed much in decades. We don't have air conditioning or fancy computer labs with the latest gadgets, but we have plenty of space and teachers who have been here for years. The sound of the midday meal being prepared is a regular part of our day. You can see the cycles parked in long rows near the entrance. It is a place of hard work and very little fuss. We just try to get the children through their high school years so they can find a decent path afterward. It’s a plain, honest place for learning that has served this town for a long time.
