Sri Hamsavahini School

Sri Hamsavahini School is located on College Road here in Amalapuram. It is a busy street with lots of shops and people moving about, so there is always something to see out of the front windows. The school itself is a pretty simple setup. We have a series of rooms that we have used for years, and the wooden benches are a bit worn down from all the students sitting on them. We do not have a very big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, whether it is helping with the gate or organizing the books in the storage room. The mornings start with the sound of the prayer, and then it is just the hum of classes until the lunchtime break. We have a small area out back where the kids can sit during their free time. It is not a huge campus, but it is enough for what we need. When it rains, the sound on the roof is quite loud, and sometimes the teachers have to talk a bit louder to be heard over the storm. We do not have any glossy posters or fancy equipment. It is just a place for learning the basics and getting through the exams. Most of the families around here have known us for a long time. We just keep the doors open and stick to our daily schedule without much change from one year to the next. That is how it goes here.
