Srivani Public School

Srivani Public School is located on Vishnalayam Street in the Jagannaickpur area of Kakinada. It is at door number 52-6-26, which most local folks know how to find easily enough. We open up the gates early every weekday morning as the sun starts coming up over the coast. The building itself has been around for quite a few years and shows some wear and tear here and there, like the scuff marks on the walls from kids’ backpacks. Inside, the classrooms are pretty basic with standard desks and some chalkboards that we’ve used for a long time. There isn’t much in the way of fancy equipment, but we have what is needed to get the daily lessons done. The staff usually gets here a bit before eight to handle the paperwork and set up the chairs. It gets pretty loud during the lunch hour when everyone is out in the corridors or in the small yard space. Sometimes the ceiling fans make a clicking sound that we just got used to over the years. In the evenings, things quiet down a lot once the last student has been picked up by their parents or walked home. It’s just a normal, local school where we try to keep things organized and safe for everyone who comes through the doors. We’ve seen many families from this part of Kakinada send their children here year after year, so we know most people in the neighborhood by their first names.
