The Tinplate Company Of India Limited has an office in Delhi at the East End Apartments in Mayur Vihar Phase-I Extension. We are in apartment number 26/202. It is a bit different from being at the factory because we are in the middle of a large residential complex. Our small team handles the sales and the distribution for the northern part of the country. The office is really just a flat that has been set up with desks, computers, and a lot of cupboards for our files. From the window, you can see the other apartment blocks and the trees that line the colony roads. Mayur Vihar is a busy area, but our little corner is usually quiet enough for us to get our work done. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to people and coordinating with the main office. The commute is easy for most of us because the metro is nearby. We have a tiny pantry where we make our own tea and coffee, and sometimes we go down to the local market to get some samosas in the evening. We don't have any fancy corporate branding on the walls; it is just a functional space where we handle the business. It is a very direct and honest way of working, and we like the familiar feeling of being in a neighborhood while we deal with the industrial side of things every single day.
