Indobel Steels is located in Mayur Vihar, specifically at C 3/5, Acharya Niketan. You have to go into Gali No. 2 to find us. It’s a typical Delhi neighborhood where everything is a bit cramped but full of life and activity. We deal with steel supplies. It’s a lot of weighing metal and talking to builders who need materials. The shop is small and always has that metallic smell that stays on your clothes. We have piles of rods and sheets that we move around all day long. It’s physical work and your hands stay dirty most of the time, no matter how much you wash them. The 110091 area is usually congested, so getting trucks in and out of the narrow lane can be a real struggle every morning. We often have to shout over the noise of the traffic just to hear each other. It’s just a few of us here doing the work. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just talk to people who walk in or give us a call on the landline. Sometimes we make mistakes with the billing and have to fix it by hand in the ledger. It’s a very local operation. We know the tea seller at the corner quite well. Most days we are just trying to get the orders delivered before it gets dark. The space is a bit messy with scraps and tools, but we know where everything is.
