Sixteen Grams Coffee Private Limited

Suraj Mal Vihar is where we set up Sixteen Grams Coffee. It's right there in Shahdara at A-38, ground floor. It's a bit of a funny spot between A-29 and A-40. We spend most of our mornings just getting the machines ready and checking the beans. It’s not a fancy place, just four walls and a lot of coffee smell that stays in your clothes all day. Some days the traffic outside is so loud you can’t hear the grinder, but that’s just how it is in this part of Delhi. We started this because we liked coffee, but mostly it’s just a lot of cleaning filters and talking to the same few delivery guys who come by every afternoon. The light in the shop is a bit dim in the back, but the front gets decent sun. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how the drawers stick and which light switch flickers. It feels like home now, even if the floor is always a bit dusty from the street. People ask why the name, and we just say it's about the dose, but really it's just what we settled on. We spend a lot of time just sitting on the stools when it's quiet, watching the neighbors walk past. It isn't much, but it's our spot here in 110092.
