Ranjeet Pan

Ranjeet Pan is located at Mayur Vihar Phase III. I’ve been working here for quite some time now, and the neighborhood has changed a lot, but the shop stays pretty much the same. It’s a small corner, nothing too fancy, just enough space for the jars and the counter where I sit. Every morning starts with cleaning the glass and making sure the leaves are fresh. Sometimes the humidity makes everything a bit sticky, and it’s a struggle to keep the place looking tidy, but that’s just how it is. People from all over Mayur Vihar stop by, mostly in the evenings when they are done with work or after they’ve had their dinner. You see the same faces every day, which is nice. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients because the delivery was late, and I have to explain that to people. It’s not a perfect system, but we get by. The fans inside don’t always work that well when it’s really hot, so we just stand outside for a bit of air. My brother helps out on the weekends when it gets a bit more crowded than usual. We don’t have any big plans or anything, we just keep the shop open and do what we do. It’s hard work, standing for so many hours, but it’s a job. We just try to get the orders right and keep the area around the shop clean enough for the neighbors.
