The main market in Shakarpur is always a bit chaotic and loud. Our office, PARADISE HOUSING REALTORS LLP, is at WA-52 on the second floor. Being right in the market means there's always something going on outside. We can hear the vendors and the cars all day long through the windows. It’s a small office, nothing like those big corporate places you see in the business districts. We have a couple of desks, some plastic chairs for guests, and a lot of files stacked up in the corner because we keep everything on paper. We focus on the local housing market here in Shahdara. People come to us because we’re right here in the neighborhood and they know our faces. We spend our mornings checking new listings and our afternoons showing people around different apartments. It’s a lot of walking and a lot of talking to different people. We don't use any big words or try to act like we know more than we do. We just know the local landlords and which buildings are actually in good shape. Some days are just spent filing papers or waiting for the internet to start working again so we can check our emails. It’s just a regular local shop. We’ve lived in Delhi long enough to know how things work here. If someone needs a place to live, we just try to help them find it without too much fuss.
