Midi Tech

Our little spot is 813-A in the Vikash Deep Building. It’s right in the middle of the Laxmi Nagar District Centre, so it’s always lively. Being on a higher floor gives us a bit of a distance from the street noise, but the building itself is always full of people going to different offices. Midi Tech has been in this room for some time now. It’s a small space, mostly taken up by a couple of large desks and some storage cabinets for parts and tools. We do a lot of technical work, so there are often wires and circuit boards sitting out. The lift in Vikash Deep can be a bit moody, sometimes you have to wait for ages, but it’s part of the daily routine here. We have a window that looks out over the rooftops of East Delhi. It’s not a very fancy view, but it’s nice to look out when you’ve been staring at a motherboard for too long. We keep things pretty simple. There’s a water cooler in the corner and a calendar on the wall that’s usually a month behind. People come in with things that need fixing or just to ask questions. We don’t have any big signs or posters, just our name on the door. It’s a busy, functional office where we spend our hours getting the work done and chatting with the other shop owners in the hallway.
