Mayank Mittal

I’ve lived and worked in Delhi for most of my life, and H No. 2 in Mausam Vihar is where Mayank Mittal is based. It’s a house, really, that we’ve converted part of into a workspace. It makes the commute very easy since I only have to walk down the hall. Mausam Vihar is a nice enough spot, though the Delhi air can be tough some months. We have a lot of plants inside to try and keep things fresh. It’s not a corporate office by any stretch of the imagination. There are kids playing in the street outside and the occasional vegetable seller shouting their prices. It keeps you grounded. We don't have a marketing department or a sales team. If we need something done, we just do it ourselves. The desk I use belonged to my father, and it’s solid wood, unlike the cheap stuff you buy now. We spend our days answering calls, filing things away, and making sure the bills are paid. It’s not glamorous, but it’s our business. Sometimes we have friends drop by for tea and we end up not getting much work done for an hour or so. That’s just the benefit of being a local operation. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just trying to keep our little corner of Delhi running smoothly. It’s been working for us so far.
